With that privilege, however, comes responsibilities. Our tripartite mission—spiritual formation, academic knowledge, and physical growth—requires a steadfast commitment from me, the Academy’s faculty, and its Board of Trustees. In a society beset with despair and loss of faith, the Gospel message brings hope. It is that hope that we share with each other and with our community. As Christians, we are “in the world, but not of it” (John 17). Your continued prayers for John Paul the Great Academy and for those of us dedicated to fulfilling its mission will always be a source of inspiration.
Naturally, as a new school, “excitement” best defines our mood, whether we are students, teachers, or administrators. As that excitement turns into the routine of the school year, we will turn our focus from the newness of the Academy to the goals that our students have for their future. As a faculty, our teaching will be driven by our conviction that master teachers equip their students with the knowledge and skills to turn their dreams into reality.
With that strategy to guide our instruction, and with the Holy Spirit to reveal to us where the future of the Academy lies, the next year promises to be an exhilarating experience. May the Lord continue to bless us with the grace and confidence to always answer “Yes!” to His call. Our patron, Pope John Paul the Great, would ask for nothing less.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
