: From 3:30-5:30 p.m. (with exemption of early dismissal) the group enjoys a snack, discusses the day, reflects on the Saint of the Day (little ones color, older ones journal), does homework, and enjoys educational recreation!
$75.00 per month, per child; $7.00 daily per child until 5:30 p.m.; $3.50 daily per child “signed-out” by 4:30 p.m. Parents are billed after each month of After-Care services. The maximum out of pocket per family for aftercare is $150.
Additional snacks may be available to insure that everyone is nourished; however, each child should bring his/her snack for the After-Care Program.
We hope students will accomplish homework goals within After-Care, and students will be encouraged to use their time to complete their homework. After about 45 minutes, they will have the freedom to choose whether to spend the time playing or doing homework.
Any student not with a teacher or coach must report to aftercare by 3:45pm in the cafeteria. Students will sign in and will be supervised until a parent or other teacher signs them out. Students on campus and not signed in to aftercare or with a teacher or coach will be reported to the Dean of Students for disciplinary consequences. The purpose of this process is to ensure the safe and appropriate supervision of every student on campus at John Paul the Great Academy.
Parent or designated adult comes to the Refectory to “sign-out” the child. If someone unlisted on your child’s registration form is retrieving your child, please send a hand-written note to school with your child. After-Care ends by 5:30 p.m.; thereafter, $1.00 per minute is charged to your account. This is not to penalize parents, but to ensure proper boundaries to the aftercare program.
Students in grades 7-12 are free to stay after school in the library from 3:30-4:30pm. There is no charge for this, and this is not a formal aftercare program. It does offer our more mature students a place to work and study after school. At 4:30, these students will move to the covered awning area and may be picked up from there between 4:30 and 5:30pm. Students may not be any other part of the campus unless they are working with a teacher or a coach. Students who do not respect this important boundary will lose the privilege and benefit of using our after school library services.
