A truly classical education is one that seeks to form the whole person – mind, soul, and body. At JPG, faith in Jesus Christ is at the heart of everything we do. We are interested not only in preparing young people for the future; we are preparing them for eternity. During their time at JPG, students are invited to internalize the faith through an unparalleled spiritual formation. The pace of each day allows students time for prayer and reflection under the oaks or in our Sacred Heart of Jesus Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
A Formation of the Soul
Students are encouraged to cultivate their spiritual life through:
A Formation in Vocations
Within thirteen years of opening its doors, JPG has sent eleven young men to study as seminarians for the Diocese of Lafayette. As of 2019, five of those young men are still in seminary formation and Fr. Chris Cambre (Class of ’07) and Fr. Donald Bernard (Class of 2012) have been ordained to the Holy Priesthood. We are also blessed to have Emily Byers, a Consecrated Virgin for the Diocese of Lafayette on our JPG Faculty. Religious brothers and sisters visit the school frequently. JPG is committed to helping students discern the way in which they will serve the Church, whether as laymen and women or as priests and consecrated persons.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION is the cultivation of wisdom and virtue by nourishing the soul on truth, goodness, and beauty by means of the seven liberal arts and the four sciences so that, in Christ, the student is enabled to better know, glorify, and enjoy God.
Growth in the spiritual life involves the development of the whole person. This unity is brought about most excellently through devotion to the sacramental life of the Church. Students encounter Christ through the holy sacrifice of the mass offered every week. Confessions are heard twice a week. Students also have the opportunity to spend some time in adoration every day at the perpetual adoration chapel located on our campus.
